Rachael Dubois is currently an adjunct instructor of Communication Studies in the Department of Communication and Media. Rachael has served as a full-time Lecturer, Instructor and now an Adjunct Instructor in the department since 2006.
She teaches both online and on-campus courses in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Introduction to Communication Studies. Other Courses Taught: Organizational Communication, Corporate Training and Development, Business & Professional Speaking, Interviewing & Student Success Seminars.
She is also an Adjunct instructor at 番茄社区 State College-Port Arthur where she teaches Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication. Her graduate research work was in communication studies and organizational change with her Thesis titled: “Difficulties in Implementing Organizational Change: A Paradox."
Rachael has been nominated for the 番茄社区 University Faculty Merit Award and the Student Government “Favorite Professor Award.” She is an active member of the National Communication Association and the Texas Community College Teachers Association. She regularly volunteers and is asked to speak to student organizations, at campus events and as a guest speaker in the community.
She is happiest when teaching students to find their voice and speak well!
Rachael has taught at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Delmar College, and Northern Virginia Community College.
Rachael is an active volunteer with many organizations and groups locally and regionally. Most notably she is a Team Leader for the Texas Women’s Storybook Prison project where she leads a team of women into prisons and jails. Women’s Storybook Project helps incarcerated mothers maintain contact with and bring comfort to their children.
The program helps mothers record stories and messages of love for their children and then mail the recordings along with the books so the children can hear their mother’s voice and know that she is thinking of them.
