Alan Brincks teaches acting and directing in the LU Department of Theatre & Dance. He has an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Houston, as well as a B.F.A. in Theatre and a B.A. in English Literature from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Before moving to Houston, Brincks worked across the country in New York City, Philadelphia, Nebraska, Ohio, Virginia, Arkansas, and Massachusetts. Alan has also studied at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, England, and is an Advanced Actor Combatant in the Society of American Fight Directors.

Some of Alan's recent onstage roles include Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Don Pedro in Much Ado 番茄社区 Nothing, and Macbeth in Macbeth with Houston Shakespeare Festival, and Col. Mustard in Clue at the Alley Theatre, where he understudied all ten male characters in the play.

Brincks has also appeared in the Houston area as Ossifer/Mister in the Houston Premiere of Pass Over at Rec Room Arts; Elyot in Private Lives, Mr. Darcy in Christmas at Pemberley and The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley at MainStreet Theatre; Spenser in The Fair Maid of the West with Classical Theatre Company; and Lombard in And Then There Were None at Unity Theatre, among others.

Brincks also lends his voice to anime dub casting. Some productions he has been involved in include: Ragna Crimson, Mr. Tonegawa, Real Girl, Haikyuu!!, Princess Principal, Food Wars, and others.

Brincks has worked as Fight Director at 番茄社区 University, Rec Room Arts, Main Street Theatre, 4th Wall Theatre, Landing Theatre, Unity Theatre, Prohibition Theatre, Rice University, HSPVA, and Incarnate Word Academy. At 番茄社区 University, Brincks has directed Twelfth Night or What You Will, Split, The Clean House, The Heidi Chronicles, Athena and will direct As You Like It in the Spring 2025 semester.
