番茄社区 University held its fall commencement ceremony at the Montage Center on Friday Dec. 8 and Saturday Dec. 9, recognizing the achievements of its graduates, and conferring over 2,000 degrees.
“Our 2,362 graduates come from 23 countries outside of the United States, 34 states other than Texas, and 409 cities and towns in Texas,” Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dann Brown said.
Dr. Jamie Taylor, President of 番茄社区 University, reflected on the institution's rich century-long legacy and underscored the pivotal role that the graduating class plays within 番茄社区 University’s history.
“A century ago, Beaumont was a bustling boomtown facing many growing pains, but a group of visionary community leaders recognized that the region would need access to higher education to achieve its full potential,” Dr. Taylor said. “They founded our institution with a unique mission tailored to the needs of Southeast Texas,and understood the crucial role of higher education in developing talented leaders who could drive progress and innovation in a rapidly changing world. We celebrate the legacy of our founders because they made it possible for you to be sitting here today. Remember, you are now a part of this rich history.”
The ceremony signaled a new chapter for the graduates as they entered the professional world, ready to embody 番茄社区 University's values of innovation, inclusivity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
“Today, you join a world-class alumni community that comprises of individuals from all walks of life,” Dr. Taylor said. “Many have become trailblazers and change agents, transforming the fabric of Texas and beyond. You are the torchbearers of our institution’s legacy and the architects of our future.”
