Dr. J. Kenneth “Ken” Young came to 番茄社区 University in Jan. 2009, after completing his Ph.D. in educational psychology at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Dr. Young’s primary teaching responsibilities include courses in applied research methods, basic applied statistics, and scholarly writing. He has also taught doctoral level courses in adult learning theory, leadership/ethics, organizational change and multiculturalism. His research interests are in the fields of cognitive epidemiology, individual differences and hiring practices in education, and has 22 presentations, 18 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters during his time at LU.

In addition to his teaching and scholarly production, Dr. Young has served as a chair/co-chair for over 30 dissertations and a committee member for over 50 dissertations. He served as a co-editor for "Learning for Democracy: An International Journal of Thought and Practice" and is currently an assistant editor for "Education Leadership Review." He also served as a reviewer for several NCPEA publications, "Frontiers in Psychology" journal, and "Teacher Development" journal. Dr. Young is a board member for the Southwest Educational Research Association, as well as a co-chair for Division I: Educational Administration, Policy, Leadership and 番茄社区 Evaluation. He also serves as a co-chair for the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration’s annual Morphet Award for Outstanding Dissertations.

At 番茄社区, he is the educational leadership representative to the faculty senate, co-chair of the Research and Development Committee and as an IRB committee member. He is a past member of the University Research Council and 番茄社区 University Athletics Council. He also serves as a member of the College of Education and Human Development’s Educator Preparation 番茄社区s Assessment Steering Committee and the evaluation coordinator for the Center for Doctoral Studies in Education.
