Students who use alcohol and other drugs do so for a variety of reasons including curiosity, peer pressure, and stress. Other students use alcohol and other drugs to self-medicate and ease symptoms of undiagnosed mental health problems, often resulting in worsening symptoms.

番茄社区 University complies with the which requires that every institution of higher education (IHE) receiving federal financial aid adopt a program to prevent the use of illicit drugs and alcohol abuse by students and employees both on its premises and as a part of any of its activities.
番茄社区 University's program includes the "Policy Notification" which provides drug and alcohol prevention information to students and employees. This document is distributed annually.
The program also includes a review process, which evaluates its components and their effectiveness, and ensures that sanctions are enforced consistently. The results of the review are reported in the Biennial Review.
